UNDULATING CLOUDS
I called this once before, a day not unlike now, where you stand far off...
Undulating Clouds, written and produced by 80KPAN, features an aery performance from Hunter Dane, with a spacey, evangelical noir beat behind them. This beautifully produced backing track is enhanced by a classic rap verse and rhythmic tropes coupled with deliberate lyrics intended to replicate the sound of relationship induced existentialism. The feeling at the end of the showdown, when all cards are on the table and you folded minutes ago, remarks laying on the coast, staring into clouds with ribbons cutting through the sky.
Adrean paints this narrative with his newest release Undulating Clouds, and associated poem titled “Aespiritas.” Amongst it all, connected; the cloudy horizon, the endless ocean, and countless rocks, you start to wonder where your place ever truly lies in this landscape. The undulating cloud moves when it feels like life won’t, but is also trapped in the sky to repeat a cycle.
The track and accompanying poem both cover feeling distant amidst all of life’s changes; a statement towards the complexity of existentialism and ultimate acceptance of one’s reality in a world of dreams. Out of place enough that the changes don’t affect you as much as what they reveal.
Undulating Clouds will be released on 2/22/2022, and you’re invited to join Adrean in embracing life’s ephemeral moments while creating perpetual feelings of certainty in a doubtful world.
