“MY SAILS ARE SET” feat. AURORA, is the dazzling second single, written and produced by NETFLIX’s THE WITCHER composers and Billboard chart-topping artists Sonya Belousova & Giona Ostinelli, for NETFLIX’s live-action adaptation of the ONE PIECE manga/anime series. The single features Norwegian art pop superstar, AURORA, best known for “Into The Unknown” from FROZEN II.
“MY SAILS ARE SET” specifically serves as a character specific theme and motif for the “Nami” character played by Emily Rudd. This single follows the previous release of the “WEALTH, FAME, POWER” score released August 15th.
SONYA BELOUSOVA & GIONA OSTINELLI also comment on their process of matching an artist with the character, noting they were “looking for an exceptional artist with a global presence to perform Nami’s theme song, embody Nami’s rebellious spirit, but at the same time, [be] fragile, with a dark past, and impacted by a childhood trauma. As soon as we met AURORA, we immediately knew she was the one.”
They continue by calling AURORA “truly brilliant” and “incredibly musical.” Adding that she was eager to “reflect all the various traits of Nami’s personality.”
